The Tower Ghost
- Dear Doris,
-
- Finally I have managed to get the pictures
to save in a jpg format. The one of Shaun was OK, but the one of
me, well, everytime I tried to convert and save it, my computer
jagged up.
-
- Now, a little history on the photos. In
1980, Shaun and I went on a holiday to Tasmania, in Australia. We
visited a place called the Shot Tower. It was where they use to
make the shot that went in the cannons, for use to ward off
raiders around the coastline. This tower is something like 60
metres high, and you walk up and up and up in a spiral around the
outer edge, the wall of the tower, though inside it.
Down
- the middle of the stairs is a large void.
The metal would be smeltered at the top of the tower, then dropped
down the centre from the top forming the rounded shape in its fall
thus what is commonly known as the 'Cannon Ball', was formed.
Anyway on entering the shop, kiosk and buying our tickets to walk
up the 60 metres of stairs, the guy behind the counter
smiled.
-
- It was half way up the stairs that I
started to feel a presence with me and I told Shaun. He laughed
and thought is was funny. As I got higher and higher, it became
increasingly strong, and I started to feel scared. So after
walking all the way up, alas our time at the top was short. Time
for two snaps of the camera to say, "Hey we've been there", then
home. I felt awkward, and just wanted to get out of
there.
-
- These are those two pictures, taken within
a minute of each other and in exactly the same spot. The one of
Shaun is very clear, the one of me, well you can see for yourself.
We left the top of the tower and started our descent. Where I had
felt the presence join me on the way up, I felt it leave me on the
way down. I told Shaun.
-
- We made it down to the kiosk, coffee shop,
and I said to the guy, is this tower haunted, and he said, "Why
yes, you are one of the lucky ones to have met him"..... The ghost
had wreaked havoc on other tourists throwing belongings down the
centre of the tower etc. I never questioned the man any further
about the ghostly presence, however, when I got the pictures
developed, I wish that I had've. I would like to know the history
of my partner in the picture.
-
- Well thats it, I hope that you enjoy the
photo's, they are real, have not been tampered with in any way
whatsoever.
-
- Love Sandi
-
-
- An exceptionally
large vortex...this is one ghost I would like NOT to
meet.*G*
