Last month, we had to help our 18yr old kitty, Samantha ,cross the Rainbow Bridge. She was very sick and we could not put her through any morepain or stress. We had her since she was about 2 and she usually slept on the bed or under the covers next to me. As she got older and more frail, she sometimes had a hard time making the jump onto the bed but she always managed somehow. She would usually start at the foot of the bed and make her way to the pillows where she would either curl up to sleep or work her way under the covers and cuddle next to me if she was cold. She was always very careful to stay on my side of the bed because my husband would usually put her on the floor. Several nights after she went to the Bridge, I had just gotten into bed and settled myself when I felt a very light motion on the bed that felt just like Samantha. I really felt that it was her coming to let me know that she was alright and saying goodbye.
