I've been cooking for 60 years, so you might say I shouldn't need recipes.
True, I probably shouldn't; however, I'm always looking for dishes
I've never tried, or new ways to put together my favorite ingredients.
I believe you're never too old to learn.

At one time I entertained a lot, and was constantly looking for new
recipes that would knock my guests off their feet. In one case it did
that literally, with my own invention, Spaghetti Lucifer.

It consisted of simple Italian tomato sauce, to which I added Mexican
chorizo and hot curry powder. Darn, it tasted good, but it lived up to
its name by being hellishly hot, and pretty rough on the intestines. It
was the only time my returning guests begged me never to serve the
same dish again.

Where was I going with that? Oh, about cooking for crowds. I don't
do that anymore, as my husband and I don't have family, and our
visitors are few and far-between. Cooking for two isn't easy
unless
you want to have lots of leftovers which you probably won't ever
eat. Of course you can freeze some of it if you have a large
enough freezer. Ours is always overflowing, so I try to keep
the portions down to enough for no more than two meals.

Am I being too chatty here? Maybe I should just
get on with the recipes.
