Crockpot Stuffed Cabbage

Filling:

1/2 lb ground beef

1/2 lb ground pork

1/3 cup uncooked white rice

1/4 cup finely chopped onion

1 t salt

1/4 t black pepper

1/4 t each onion and garlic powder

mix thoroughly

Sauce:

1 can (16oz?) tomato sauce (around 2 cups)

1 cup water

1/4 to 1/2 cup brown sugar. Try less first, and taste it.

1/2 t each onion and garlic powder

1/4 t black pepper

I don't add salt, as the tomato sauce is usually salty enough, but you can add it later if you want.

Have your cabbage leaves ready, fill them as you usually do, then put them in a slow cooker.
Squeeze 1/2 a lemon over them, then pour the sauce over. Cook on low for 4 or 5 hours,
then check to see if sauce has reduced and thickened. You want it fairly thick, so cook longer
if necessary. If it doesn't seem to be cooking down fast enough you can switch it to high, but
watch it carefully so that it doesn't cook away to nothing.

The recipe is by no means exact, so correct seasonings to your taste. Enjoy!
