Bubby is Catsy's big brudder, who makes up in brawn what he lacks in brain. He is very big compared to his sister, who is not so tiny herself! I don't know how much he weighs, but I risk straining my back if I pick him up. He's probably the most unflappable of all the cats--the only thing that excites him is the sound of dry food being poured into the dispenser.

His ears used to be normal; then, when he was about 6 years old, one of them crumpled and folded over. We saw no signs of injury--couldn't imagine how it happened. About a year ago, the same thing happened to the other ear--it just folded over. We have wondered if he could be a throwback to a Scottish Fold--wish someone could give us some insight on this!

Bubby used to be a working cat. Every summer he would go out in the morning and disappear until suppertime. We thought he might be exploring the field next to our house, but no--our neighbor, who has her own menagerie, told us he would come to her house (right up the drive from us--no road-crossing) every day and sit in one specific spot, just watching the other animals. Up until a year ago he went there every day, like it was his job, unless it was raining and he had to stay indoors. This would upset him--I guess he thought someone would dock his pay for missing work!

Bub has never been much for playing, but lately he's taken to running and batting things around the floor. He also likes chasing and being chased by the the three 3-year-olds who still play quite a bit, but generally he's pretty quiet, preferring to lie on the couch arm next to daddy and either sleep or stare at stuff. He's not the brightest, wittiest cat in the world, but he's sweet--and that's enough for us.
